Our story
The tool we couldn't find, so we built.
In 2020, Iris was an editorial photographer juggling Lightroom exports, a clunky gallery host, a spreadsheet for invoices, and a Stripe dashboard for payments — four tools, three logins, zero joy. Mateo, a designer who'd spent a decade making software for creative work, sketched what a single calm tool could look like.
The first version went out to twenty photographers in a private Discord. They brought clients onto it. Clients started asking their photographers about it. The wait-list grew faster than we could write code. We hired carefully, took one round of funding, and shipped publicly in 2022.
Today, Lepta Studio is used by independent photographers and full studios across 94 countries to share work, run their books, and look more polished doing it. We're still small — 14 people — and we like it that way.
